Proposed Rule Changes for the 2010-2011 Cup

After gaining much feedback from old boys and discussion between members of different clubs the following proposed rule changes are formulated and outlined below. They are meant to provoke discussion and feedback.

Feel free to use the discussion board under "UH Matters" to express your views and/or alternatively please send an email copying in The UH President, Dr. John Maynard (jmaynard@doctors.org.uk); The 1st XV Captain, Ollie De Brett (debrettor@hotmail.com); and Student VPs Will Dooley (willdooley@hotmail.com) and Simon Bellringer (simon.bellringer05@imperial.ac.uk)

1) The match day squad of 22 players must be made up of at least 19 current students.
2) Current students are defined as those currently studying a degree in medicine, veterinary or dentistry at the university. Included are vocational para-medicals such as nurses and physios (not Biomedical or other research degree students unless intercalating).
3) Non-students in the team are defined as those who have qualified from studying the above degree courses.
4) At least 3 days before match days the full list of players including current degree (for students) and year qualified and degree studied (for non-students) must be emailed to the UH President to be published on the UH website for review.
5)If any of the above rules are broken a disciplinary process will be held against the offending team, with a likely ban from the subsequent UH Cup competition put upon them.

6) In alignment with BUCS rules a maximum of 10 rolling-substitutions will be allowed per match.

These rules are an attempt to modernise the competition and keep it in date with the changing face of medical school rugby.
